Pike Road is Togetherness to Local Attorney

Ray Hawthorne has lived in and been actively involved in the Town of Pike Road for almost 13 years.

Ray started practicing law as an Assistant District Attorney for the 19th Judicial Circuit of Alabama in 2010. In 2015, Ray transitioned his practice to civil litigation and ultimately started his firm in 2022 with partners Thomas Atchison (Selma) and Rob Riddle (Prattville). Today, the firm Hawthorne, Atchison & Riddle, LLC, provides legal representation for personal injury claims and other general civil litigation focused in Central Alabama, but also throughout the entire State.

Ray says HAR Legal provides personal service to their clients and is accessible to their clients while working hard to gain real results for their clients. He and the other attorneys at the firm pride themselves on not only being excellent advocates for their clients, but also on being involved in the community in meaningful ways.

Their clients say they are grateful that the attorneys communicate well with them and are easy to reach. They also say they work hard to move their cases forward while achieving excellent outcomes.

Throughout his legal career, Ray has handled numerous criminal and civil matters throughout all phases of litigation, including research and writing, motion hearings, witness preparation, plea/settlement negotiations, and jury trials.

Ray was born and raised in the River Region. Ray is married to Ali Hawthorne of Kennesaw, Georgia and they have two sons, Jack and Barnes. He and his family live in Pike Road. Ali is Principle at the Beasley Allen Law Firm in Montgomery, Alabama, and has been practicing law since 2010.

He and his family enjoy living in Pike Road and chose to live here for the sense of togetherness they find in our rural community and the hometown feel of the town. They are members of St. James Methodist Church in Pike Road.

Ray previously served as President of the Pike Road Schools Board of Education since its inception from 2013 to 2021. During his tenure, he helped to launch the school system and has seen the system grow from one campus to three. He was also an essential advocate and voice to help the town fund the soon-to-be-built high school.

Ray is an active member of the Alabama State Bar; the Alabama Association for Justice; the Montgomery, Autauga, and Elmore County Bar Associations; the Alabama Peace Officers Association; and the Fraternal Order of Police. Ray has previously volunteered for the YMCA, the Salvation Army, and the Thomas G. Jones School of Law.
